Women's History Month

SheRo Day to celebrate International Women's Day

Who Runs the World? This year was our first campus-wide celebration of Women's History Month. Since all through the year, we've been reading stories that highlighted women's accomplishments, and therefore their struggles, when March arrived the ground was ready. It was easier to explain why the need of celebrating this particular month.

The activities planned were simple.

  • My Shero Day to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th.

  • Women Crush Wednesday. Every Wednesday we wear a Women’s Empowerment Shirt and jeans AND read aloud a book about a Powerful Woman.

  • Trail Blazer's Research. Every class researched one trailblazer woman and we created a common Slide Presentation.

Next year, we would like more participation in Shero Day and expand the Trail Blazer's research.
